21st December 2009: Class 4 (Final)

It's the last class from the course and this is what I did for my graduation

I was given a choice to choose from two Wilton design but I put in my emotional touch for this.
May I present you the project "Emotional Roses"

The 8" cake from the top

19th December 2009: Class 3

The third class was a little exciting as we were frosting on smaller cakes; cupcakes. Prior to class, we were told to each bring 8 cupcakes to decorate on. First we were taught how to do the Shell Borders.

The Shell borders with Open Star tip 21

Then we were taught how to pipe a Clown with the same tip!

Even Clowns could have fun!

They could be in whichever position you could pipe & imagine them to be!

I wasn't able to purchase a Clown head of my own hence I just practised on my board

My Swirl Flower Cuppie

My Wilton Rose Cuppie with edges (because the icing was simply too stiff!)

My Bear Faced Cuppie

Rose & Swirls

The last 4th Wilton Class of Course 1 would be commenced two days after my 3rd!

Certainly hope I'd be able to pull off some nice designs as I'm only left with 2 days till graduation!

12th December 2009: Class 2

A sneak peek of what happens during the 2nd Wilton Class.
For a start, there will be a demo on how to hold on the piping bags and read the clock and directions instructions on the Wilton Course 1 book.

The icing filled should never exceed the length of four finger's height
Above picture shows the precise way to lock your piping bag

The process of piping the stars design out of Star tip 16#

The stars should sit precise and well cling against one another
leaving no tiny hole if you flip the practise board

Drawing the Curving Line with tip 16#
Always start on the surface of the cake, pipe and move along slightly above the cake
End on the surface, release pressure from the pipe bag and move away

Drawing the Tight ZigZag with tip 16#

*Tada* This is the first cake i decorated - I love rainbows!

5th December 2009 : Class 1

Love is splendid in many ways and when it comes knocking at your senses; it hooks you off your feet and makes you mad. That’s what happened to me! You see, I’ve always loved desserts and I have the undeniably sweetest tooth on earth! In some ways, I’m blessed for my undying passion towards dessert eating and could still keep myself in flat piece. I should be going sideways by now; judging from the amount of sugar I take daily. So when I bumped into the Wilton’s official website - It’s no doubt; I have fallen in love and went mad. At that very moment; I knew I have found the soul mate of my life!

Being able to bake, decorate and eat my cake is simply wicked! So I decided to take the plunge and dazzle myself with Wilton Method Cake Decorating Course 1. The first class was all demo and no hands on but it certainly feels like magic. This is the feeling of owning your first Barbie but only better! It's addictive and non curative!
The Butter Cake all ready for the demo!

Always start on the sides
